Flashback

Remember when spring meant that school was almost out? Post-MBA was like summer break except it was in the living room with pajamas and salted cashews watching old Mad Med episodes. Spring came with a vengeance, like Don Draper’s unending guilt and preoccupations…and now nitrite-free ham tomorrow already? Who decided ham is paired with resurrection?

Besides John Hamm visiting my living room on a near daily basis, the past eight weeks have brought:

1. Girls Night Out: It’s never underrated. Whether the wine is a bottomless glass like at the new Wilde Roast on date night, or priced too high like at Gather at the Walker, the conversation is as healthy as the friendship. It’s even better when boys aren’t around.

2. Eli’s East is the lovely new Nord East addition to the Eli’s family. You can have a creative or simple meal that will fill the plate and your stomach without breaking the bank.

3. Why Winona? Why not? It’s a great drive out of the city along the river (yeah the big Miss) and it’s fun.

4. Justified: 2 words: Timothy Olyphant. I needed something to keep my attention while waiting around for Don Draper.

5. Old dress fits: A dress I couldn’t wear for three years zipped up just in time for….you guessed it…Mad Men. Nothing is more satisfying than wearing a sexy dress for a man. Even if he is just on your TV.

6. New Mad Men: Can you say Hamm=Resurrection? I sure can.

7. The Hunger Games. Liked it. Want to read the books. Jennifer Lawrence makes archery look really hot.

8. New shirt rocks! (See above). I personally don’t mind shopping consignment. A working girl needs a good bang for her buck. Plus you find cool stuff and your husband is happy when you tell him how much you saved. Let’s face it, your husband is way happier when your happy.
